Maker life updates from March 2026

We got a taste of spring — a few warm days that made you believe it — and then the temperatures dropped right back down. I'm waiting out the cold, wet days like everyone else, mostly by keeping my hands busy and my project queue full.

On the knitting front, I just wrapped up the Easy Eyelet Lite pattern with a knit-along, which was such a good time. There's something about finishing a KAL that feels like a proper milestone — seeing everyone's makes come together, yet each one so different, is genuinely rewarding. I'm also deep in a sample knit for a new pattern I'm really excited about, and pulling out some long-neglected projects to finally finish. It's nice getting back to working on my own designs.

The big news this month is that I've officially launched an Etsy photography shop. The images you find here on the site are now also at AmandaLynnGallery on Etsy. It's been a lot of work to tailor the shop to how Etsy's algorithms work, and opening a dedicated space for the photography felt like the right call. I've been sitting on years of travel and nature photography and finally decided to do something with it. The shop has digital download prints from Arches, the Badlands, Bryce Canyon, and more to come — instant downloads, high resolution, ready to print. If you've ever wanted a piece of the American West on your wall, this is a good place to start.

In non-fiber news, I've picked up chair caning. Completely unrelated to everything else I make, and I'm absolutely here for it — new skill, new obsession, new mess in my office. I hope to share the results soon, with a second piece debuting for Halloween (fingers crossed).

I've been longingly staring out the window at our new deck. Once the weather cooperates, I'm ready to get the space set up for outdoor relaxing and crafting.

As always, thanks for following along. The Etsy shops are linked below if you want to browse — and if you've been curious about the photography prints, now's a great time to look. 🌿
